 Board of Trustees of Lingnan Won “the 2011 Southern China Charity Awards”


On Nov. 18, 2011, the Board of Trustees of Lingnan (University) College, Sun Yat-sen University won the “The 2011 Southern Chinese Charity Awards” for its contribution to the education development in the Guangdong Province for over 20 years.


Accomplishments of the Board: 

  • -- Raising over 250 million HKD
  • -- Building 11 teaching buildings and supported with teaching and research facilities at Lingnan
  • -- Offering more than 100 educational awards and funds
  • -- Key initiator and contributor to the joint International MBA program by Lingnan and MIT Sloan School of Management
  • -- Key initiator and contributor to the CHEMBA program by Lingnan and Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.



 Lingnan Charity Night


“Lingnan Charity Night � Cocktail Dinner” was jointly held by the EMBA Center and the Orphanage Education Association of Guangdong in April 2012. The event raised CNY 900,000 for the Association








 Volunteer Teaching Program


The Volunteer Teaching Program for Children of Immigrant families was jointly organized by Lingnan Youth Volunteer Association and Youth Volunteer Association of Sun Yat-sen University in May 2012. Chinese and foreign students at Lingnan participated in the teaching activities.







 Primary School Kitchen Built by EDP Program Donation


Students from the 19th  Advanced Management Program for CEOs raised CNY50, 000 in Sep. 2011 to build a well-equipped kitchen for the Jiatian Central Primary School at Sanjiang town, Qingyuan city.








 Care for the Cataract Patients


Students from the 21st Advancement Management Program for CEOs and the Guangdong Lions Club visited Guangning in Zhaoqing city in May 2012 to offer treatment fund, medicine, sunglasses to patients with Cataract.







 Green Strategy Seminar


On July 30, 2011, the “2011 Forum on Low Carbon Investment and Green Strategy” was jointly held by Lingnan (University) College and Nanfang Daily on the topic of “Low Carbon and Transformation”. The Club is the first EMBA alumni organization in the Country aiming to help EMBA alumni and their companies to achieve better performance while implementing green strategy.
